For veterans
Moving into technology work? Ask me anything.
I served as an Army helicopter crew chief, then spent decades building software and business systems. I give this guidance for free.
What this is
Free guidance, one person to another, for a veteran thinking about work in technology. It is not a course, a program or a placement service, and there is nothing to buy. You tell me where you are starting from and what you are curious about, and I tell you what I would do in your place and what I have seen work.
What we can talk about
Which kind of tech work fits you
Software, systems, cloud, data, support, video and web work are different jobs. We start from what you already do well, and it is usually more than you think.
Turning service into a resume
Describing what you did in plain terms an employer can picture, without jargon and without selling yourself short.
Where to start learning
What is worth your time first, what can wait, and what to ignore. AI tools are part of this now, and I can show you how I use them.
Working with the limits you have
Tech work can be done from a chair, with a keyboard or without a mouse. If mobility or health shapes what you can do, say so and we plan around it.
How to ask
Use the contact form and tell me a little about where you are. A sentence or two is plenty. If it is easier to talk than to write, say that and we will find a way.
